This 'snow.txt' file is manually maintained. Entry starts at the beginning of a snow event and ends after all snow (on the ground)is gone. The file is reverse sorted so that the most recent data record is at the top. 2. For those who asked why the depth is not increasing... This is because the heavier wet snow is compressing the underlying dryer, lighter snow. The depth gauge is not used to measure snow fall. Snow fall is measured using a cold white board, sweeping it off after each measurement. 3. Season snow total shows in the heading in the brackets [ ]. 4. Depth readngs continue until no snow depth remains.
